This blog has several purposes.
In no particular order, the first is to chronicle the last year of Kenneth Ring’s life. He was diagnosed with cancer of the jaw in October of 2008 and passed away in his bed in November of 2009. He went from being vibrantly healthy and just a bit overweight to 120 lbs, and nothing like his former self at the end. The transformation was astonishing and heartbreaking to watch. Even so, his death, the day before Thanksgiving, came as a shock to his family.
Another purpose for the blog is to provide information and advice to those in similar circumstances. You can write in with questions, you can participate in conversations via the comment section on each post. You don’t have to use your real name, but you may if you wish.
Finally, this blog will help Marsha process her thoughts and emotions from the past year or so. She will probably not stick to any certain formula for the posts. They may be directly related to Kenny’s story, but may not be.
If you have questions that you would like answered, feel free to send Marsha an email and ask. If it seems right to her, she’ll post the answer as a blog.
At the end of the day, this blog is about life and death and our thoughts and emotions concerning them. We hope that this site sparks conversation and thought in your families. We hope that everyone who visits gains peace and understanding here.
